A Dra. Heidelise Als \u00e9 pesquisadora e m\u00e9dica, dedicada ao desenvolvimento neurol\u00f3gico de rec\u00e9m-nascidos prematuros e de alto risco, ao papel essencial dos pais na primeira inf\u00e2ncia fora do \u00fatero, bem como aos efeitos do ambiente e do cuidado dos profissionais em ambientes de cuidados m\u00e9dicos intensivos para esses rec\u00e9m-nascidos. Seu objetivo \u00e9 melhorar o futuro de todos os rec\u00e9m-nascidos, especialmente daqueles que nasceram prematuros e\/ou com desafios especiais que exigem cuidados m\u00e9dicos intensivos, e tamb\u00e9m para suas fam\u00edlias.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A Dra. Als \u00e9 a criadora do Programa de Cuidados e Avalia\u00e7\u00e3o Individualizados do Rec\u00e9m-Nascido (NIDCAP) e diretora do primeiro programa de treinamento baseado em NICU nesse enfoque, o Centro Nacional de Treinamento NIDCAP. Ela tamb\u00e9m \u00e9 a criadora da Avalia\u00e7\u00e3o do Comportamento de Lactentes Prematuros (APIB), publicada em 1982, baseada e expandindo a Escala de Avalia\u00e7\u00e3o Comportamental Neonatal de Brazelton (1973).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Em 2001, ela fundou a Federa\u00e7\u00e3o Internacional NIDCAP (NFI), uma organiza\u00e7\u00e3o de caridade com a miss\u00e3o de garantir o atendimento NIDCAP para todos os rec\u00e9m-nascidos e fam\u00edlias em todo o mundo. A pesquisa dela e de outros pesquisadores documentou melhorias significativas na sa\u00fade e nos resultados neurodesenvolvimentais de beb\u00eas prematuros, al\u00e9m de maior confian\u00e7a e compet\u00eancia dos pais para aqueles que receberam atendimento NIDCAP em compara\u00e7\u00e3o com a assist\u00eancia convencional, baseada em tarefas e hor\u00e1rios. Seu trabalho transformou a forma\u00e7\u00e3o e educa\u00e7\u00e3o do pessoal, bem como o design e o atendimento nas UTIs nos EUA e em outros lugares.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
