Dr. Gleason is trained as a pediatrician in child and adolescent psychiatry and serves as the Robins Family Chair in Early Childhood Mental Health and Chief of Early Childhood Mental Health in the Department of Psychiatry at Boston Children’s Hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In her clinical work, Dr. Gleason focuses on early childhood mental health care, especially when integrated into non-mental health settings\u2014including pediatric practices\u2014where children and families already spend time. In her academic work, she is interested in the early identification of childhood mental health disorders; she developed and validated the Early Childhood Screening Assessment, which has now been tested in five languages and cultures. She is also interested in examining effective, innovative approaches to mental health care access. She has worked closely with state public health leaders to develop federally funded programs that offer mental health consultation to pediatric clinicians, early interventionists, a<\/sup>nd perinatal healthcare clinicians.<\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Gleason is honored to hold national positions i<\/sup>n the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and has worked closely with both organizations to promote best practices for young children. She is committed to resident education and <\/sup>has served as training director at Tulane and Brown Universities, as well as Eastern Virginia Medical School. She participated in the Diagnostic Classification: 0-5 with ZERO TO THREE\u2019s work group and co-led ZERO TO THREE\u2019s Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Workgrou<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Infant and early childhood mental health is inherently a pediatric activity, centering well-being and thriving as a core part of health. Using a population health approach, infant and early childhood mental health can be integrated into pediatric primary care, offering universal interventions for all children, mechanisms for early identification, a limited menu of first line interventions, and access to evidence-based treatments. Systems of care that apply population health models to specialty care prioritize effective bridging from primary care to specialty care and common factor approaches to address clinical concerns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This presentation will offer examples of effective universal interventions, early identification, first line interventions, and bridging to specialty care that utilize common factor approaches for intervention.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
