This picture hangs in my office and is a daily \u2013 constant \u2013 second by second reminder to me to be who I am \u2013 my authentic self. That I stand on the shoulders of my ancestors, that I am enough \u2013 my shine and sparkle does not diminish yet adds to the shine of others. And lastly and more honoring, that my family and friends see me as a warrior, shero in pursuit of changing the narrative on Black and Brown infants, children, families, and communities \u2013 we ALL deserve to thrive and soar, not just survive. This is a FACT, not an option.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Eurnestine Brown <\/em><\/strong>brings a wealth of experience to her roles as the first Director of Relational Equity and Belonging at the Brazelton Touchpoints Center and Division of Developmental Medicines\u2019 (DDM) Liaison, to the Office of Health Equity and inclusion (OHEI) at Boston Children\u2019s Hospital. She embraces relational equity, inclusion and belonging, which begins with reflection, expanded awareness, and a commitment to action for change. Relational equity and belonging include, yet move beyond fairness, being valued, welcomed, and accountable. They also mean recognizing the historical, political, and social underpinnings of our society today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In her role Dr. Brown seeks to provide authentic pathways for all voices to be acknowledged, heard, and appreciated. As Director, she leads our efforts to become an anti-racist and inclusive Center and Division that promotes sustainable excellence by creating an organizational culture that is committed to equity, inclusion, and belonging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Brown\u2019s specialty areas include adolescent pregnancy and prenatal development, children\/families experiencing poverty, racial, gender, and health inequities, parental socialization practices and early childhood socioemotional development, Early Head Start\/Head Start, and resiliency. She recently completed the Brazelton Newborn Behavioral Observations (NBO) system training, moderated BTC\u2019s Parenting While Black, a 6-week, free webinar series for and by Black parents, and earned an additional Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Workplace certification.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
