Reflexi\u00f3n de Emily Hills<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Debo admitir que no he sido un \u00e1vido lector de poes\u00eda en mi vida. Fue Sarah, sin embargo, mi hermana mayor, a quien le encantaba la poes\u00eda, as\u00ed como toda la literatura, quien me influenci\u00f3 incluso cuando desesperaba por mi uso limitado de la lengua inglesa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Para recordar y conmemorar la vida de Sarah (1971-2021) madre, esposa y periodista, fallecida a causa de un c\u00e1ncer de mama el Lunes de Pascua del a\u00f1o pasado, he elegido un poema que le encantaba, escrito por el poeta y dramaturgo irland\u00e9s Louis MacNeice (1907-1963), miembro del Grupo Auden. Lo elijo porque el poema implora gu\u00eda y protecci\u00f3n frente al caos del mundo actual.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

El poema est\u00e1 contado por un ni\u00f1o por nacer que proviene de un mundo seguro, dentro de la calidez del vientre materno. El poema me inspira a recordar la importancia de los primeros 1001 d\u00edas y la necesidad de cuidar y apoyar a cada beb\u00e9 y a su familia cuando llegan a este mundo inquietante e impredecible en el que vivimos. Me recuerda que es un gran honor conocer a una familia por primera vez y que nuestras palabras y acciones importan. Pero sobre todo lo elijo porque extra\u00f1o a mi hermana mayor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No dejes que el murci\u00e9lago chupasangre ni la rata ni el armi\u00f1o ni el

Temo que la raza humana me encierre con altos muros,
con drogas fuertes d\u00f3piame, con mentiras sabias enr\u00e9dame,
en bastidores negros tormentadme, en ba\u00f1os de sangre revolcadme.

Con agua para acunarme, hierba para crecer para m\u00ed, \u00e1rboles para hablar
a m\u00ed, cielo para cantarme, p\u00e1jaros y una luz blanca

Emily es una terapeuta ocupacional neonatal especialista cl\u00ednica en el Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, donde dirige la atenci\u00f3n al desarrollo, la evaluaci\u00f3n y las intervenciones neuroconductuales, neurodesarrollicas y sensoriales, incluido el seguimiento tras el alta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emily es una terapeuta neonatal certificada (CNT). Ha completado su maestr\u00eda (MSc) en Estudios Neonatales Avanzados en la Universidad de Southampton. Emily est\u00e1 certificada por NIDCAP y da conferencias sobre el programa de Educaci\u00f3n para el Neurodesarrollo de la Familia y el Infante (FINE) en el Reino Unido.
