Ed Tronick, Ph.D. <\/strong>is a developmental neuroscientist and clinical psychologist. He is internationally recognized for his research on infant neurobehavior and infant face-to-face infant interactions. With T. B. Brazelton, he worked on the development of the original Neonatal Behavioral Assessment Scale (NBAS) and later with B. Lester he developed the NICU Network Neurobehavioral Scale (NNNS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tronick formulated that Still-Face paradigm, and the Mutual Regulation Model with its reparation-mismatch theory of interactions and therapy. Recently he proposed the Buffer-Transducer model emphasizing the parents\u2019 buffering or transducing the effects of resource enhancing or depleting factors on their child\u2019s well-being. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

His current research focuses on infant memory for stress and epigenetic processes affecting infants\u2019 and parents\u2019 behavior. He has developed the Caretaker Acute Stress Paradigm (CARP) to experimentally study the effects of an acute stress on mothers\u2019 interactions with infants and its effects on mutual interactive regulation.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
