La Dra. Weatherston es actualmente supervisora y consultora de salud mental infantil en pr\u00e1ctica privada en M\u00edchigan. Co-desarroll\u00f3 y se desempe\u00f1\u00f3 como la primera directora ejecutiva de la Alliance for the Advancement of Infant Mental Health, Inc.\u00ae, una organizaci\u00f3n reconocida a nivel nacional e internacional cuya misi\u00f3n es promover el desarrollo de la fuerza laboral a trav\u00e9s de la competencia basada en Aval para la Pr\u00e1ctica Sensibles Culturalmente y Centrada en la Relaci\u00f3n que Promueve la Salud Mental Infantil y de la Primera Infancia <\/em>(2016-2018).\u00a0 <\/em>Antes de eso, fue Directora Ejecutiva de la Asociaci\u00f3n de Salud Mental Infantil de M\u00edchigan (2002-2016), una organizaci\u00f3n que promueve la capacitaci\u00f3n, la educaci\u00f3n y las experiencias de pr\u00e1ctica reflexiva para profesionales de diversas disciplinas y en m\u00faltiples entornos de servicio. Obtuvo sus t\u00edtulos de posgrado en la Universidad Estatal Wayne en Detroit, M\u00edchigan, donde cofund\u00f3 y dirigi\u00f3 el Programa de Certificado de Posgrado especializado e interdisciplinario en Salud Mental Infantil a trav\u00e9s del Instituto Merrill-Palmer de la Universidad Estatal Wayne en Detroit, M\u00edchigan (1988-2002).<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

El Dr. Weatherston ha contribuido al campo de la salud mental infantil con libros coeditados y coescritos sobre los principios y pr\u00e1cticas de la salud mental infantil: Servicios de salud mental infantil: apoyo a competencias \/ reducci\u00f3n de riesgos (1989\/2002\/2015)<\/em>) con Betty Tableman <\/em>y Estudios de caso en salud mental infantil: riesgo, resiliencia y relaciones (2002) <\/em>con Joan Shirilla. <\/em>En 2009 y de nuevo en 2016,<\/em> Coedit\u00f3 con Joy Osofsky dos n\u00fameros especiales de Revista de Salud Mental Infantil<\/em> que se centraba en la pr\u00e1ctica, la formaci\u00f3n, la supervisi\u00f3n reflexiva y la investigaci\u00f3n de la salud mental infantil.  <\/em>Ha publicado art\u00edculos en el Infant Mental Health Journal y en el Journal for Zero to Three sobre la pr\u00e1ctica y la supervisi\u00f3n reflexiva, entre ellos:<\/em> Supervisi\u00f3n reflexiva: Apoyando la reflexi\u00f3n como piedra angular de la competencia (2010)<\/em> con Bob y Barbra Weigand, Componentes cr\u00edticos de la supervisi\u00f3n reflexiva: respuestas de supervisores expertos en el campo (2014) <\/em>con Angie Tomlin y Tom Pavkov,<\/em> y El Modelo de Visitas Domiciliarias de Salud Mental Infantil de Michigan (2020) <\/em>con Julie Ribaudo y el Michigan Research Collaborative.<\/em>  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
