Las relaciones entre padres e hijos resilientes, afectuosas y de apoyo dependen de la capacidad del progenitor para ser curioso y estar abierto a la experiencia del hijo. Es por esta raz\u00f3n que los profesionales que trabajan con padres buscan promover las capacidades reflexivas, particularmente en familias muy estresadas donde abundan las amenazas a la seguridad y tales capacidades se consiguen con dificultad. Pero primero, deben establecer (y restablecer) la fundamentos relacionales de la reflexi\u00f3n <\/em>en los padres: seguridad, regulaci\u00f3n y confianza. Estos son los componentes b\u00e1sicos de los que surge la capacidad de conocerse a uno mismo y a los dem\u00e1s. La seguridad y la autorregulaci\u00f3n facilitan el desarrollo de relaciones de confianza que proporcionan andamios esenciales para el aprendizaje, el descubrimiento y la reflexi\u00f3n. Arietta Slade, PhD es profesora de Psicolog\u00eda Infantil Cl\u00ednica en el Yale Child Study Center. Te\u00f3rica, cl\u00ednica, investigadora y docente reconocida internacionalmente, ha escrito ampliamente sobre el desarrollo del funcionamiento reflexivo de los padres, las implicaciones del apego para la psicoterapia infantil y de adultos, y la pr\u00e1ctica de la salud mental infantil basada en la relaci\u00f3n.
