Nathan A. Fox es un distinguido profesor universitario en la Universidad de Maryland en el Departamento de Desarrollo Humano y Metodolog\u00eda Cuantitativa. Ha realizado investigaciones sobre las bases biol\u00f3gicas del comportamiento social y emocional, desarrollando m\u00e9todos para evaluar la actividad cerebral en beb\u00e9s y ni\u00f1os peque\u00f1os durante tareas dise\u00f1adas para elicitar una variedad de emociones. Su trabajo sobre los antecedentes temperamentales de la ansiedad est\u00e1 financiado por los Institutos Nacionales de Salud, donde recibi\u00f3 el premio MERIT por la excelencia de este programa de investigaci\u00f3n. Es miembro electo de la Asociaci\u00f3n Estadounidense para el Avance de la Ciencia, la Asociaci\u00f3n de Ciencia Psicol\u00f3gica y la Academia Estadounidense de Artes y Ciencias, y recibi\u00f3 el Premio a las Contribuciones Cient\u00edficas Distinguidas de la Sociedad para la Investigaci\u00f3n en el Desarrollo Infantil y el Premio al Mentor Distinguido y el Premio G. Tambi\u00e9n recibi\u00f3 en 2017 el Premio Ruane a la Investigaci\u00f3n Sobresaliente en Psiquiatr\u00eda Infantil y de Adolescentes. Es miembro fundador del Consejo Cient\u00edfico Nacional para el Ni\u00f1o en Desarrollo y codirector cient\u00edfico de este grupo. En su charla, hablar\u00e1 sobre c\u00f3mo desde los primeros meses de vida, los beb\u00e9s reaccionan y responden a las personas y eventos en su entorno con su propio estilo \u00fanico. Estas diferencias individuales en el temperamento influyen en la forma en que los cuidadores responden a su beb\u00e9 y moldean la personalidad en desarrollo del infante. Describir\u00e1 c\u00f3mo evaluamos el temperamento infantil y c\u00f3mo el entorno moldea y es moldeado por estos estilos de comportamiento.
