El comportamiento es todo lo que hacemos. Es el resultado de (y proporciona la entrada para) la exploraci\u00f3n multimodal, la percepci\u00f3n, la cognici\u00f3n, la motivaci\u00f3n, la emoci\u00f3n y la interacci\u00f3n social. Con la edad y la experiencia, el comportamiento del infante se vuelve m\u00e1s flexible, adaptativo y funcional. \u00bfC\u00f3mo se desarrolla el comportamiento? En el curso de la actividad cotidiana, los infantes adquieren inmensas cantidades de pr\u00e1ctica distribuida en el tiempo, variable y llena de errores para cada tipo de comportamiento fundamental que los investigadores han medido. La pr\u00e1ctica es en gran medida automotivada, espont\u00e1nea y, con frecuencia, no est\u00e1 dirigida a objetivos. Los modelos formales sugieren que el r\u00e9gimen de pr\u00e1ctica natural de los infantes \u2014repleto de variabilidad y errores\u2014 es \u00f3ptimamente adecuado para construir un sistema de comportamiento flexible que responda adaptativamente a las limitaciones y oportunidades de habilidades en continua evoluci\u00f3n en un mundo en constante cambio. Karen E. Adolph<\/em> <\/strong>es profesora Julius Silver de Psicolog\u00eda y Neurociencia y profesora de Psicolog\u00eda Aplicada y Psiquiatr\u00eda del Ni\u00f1o y del Adolescente en la Universidad de Nueva York. Utiliza conductas motoras observables y una variedad de tecnolog\u00edas (v\u00eddeo, seguimiento de movimiento, suelo instrumentado, seguimiento ocular montado en la cabeza, EEG, etc.) para estudiar los procesos de desarrollo. Adolph dirige la biblioteca de v\u00eddeos Databrary.org y PLAY-project.org, y mantiene la herramienta de codificaci\u00f3n de v\u00eddeo Datavyu.org.
