Reflexi\u00f3n de la Dra. Aoife Twohig<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Escrib\u00ed este poema en respuesta a una fotograf\u00eda de una madre y un beb\u00e9 tomada en las semanas posteriores a la invasi\u00f3n de Ucrania por parte de Rusia. La madre sostiene al beb\u00e9 a un poco menos de 15 cent\u00edmetros de su rostro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El rostro de la madre se sostiene hacia el del beb\u00e9, pero la expresi\u00f3n est\u00e1 en otra parte y no podemos ver realmente los ojos de la madre. El beb\u00e9, de unos 3 meses de edad, se est\u00e1 girando, como con tanto esfuerzo como puede, alej\u00e1ndose, como si estuviera alcanzando algo, justo ah\u00ed. Una voz tal vez, una luz. Pens\u00e9 mucho en esta imagen y en lo que podr\u00eda suceder despu\u00e9s. La madre, en tiempos suficientemente buenos, podr\u00eda llamar suavemente al beb\u00e9, esperar al beb\u00e9, preguntarse qu\u00e9 est\u00e1 buscando el beb\u00e9, hacia qu\u00e9 se estira, trayendo suavemente al beb\u00e9 de vuelta y embeles\u00e1ndola con su propia mirada, con los ojos bien abiertos y llena de luz. O, dado que esta madre y este beb\u00e9 son refugiados y se alojan en un refugio antia\u00e9reo, por seguridad, tal vez se oiga el sonido de proyectiles blindados cayendo a raudales afuera, tal vez el coraz\u00f3n de la madre y el coraz\u00f3n del beb\u00e9 est\u00e9n latiendo en anticipaci\u00f3n de algo aterrador y mortal, demasiado preocupados con su propio miedo y terror internos como para mirarse a los ojos o buscar consuelo all\u00ed. He pensado en esta imagen y en el poema que escrib\u00ed entonces muy a menudo durante los \u00faltimos 7 meses, mientras somos testigos del da\u00f1o y la matanza incalculables e interminables de beb\u00e9s y ni\u00f1os peque\u00f1os inocentes, s\u00ed, inocentes, y sus familias en Gaza, Cisjordania e Israel. \u00bfCu\u00e1ntos momentos as\u00ed han ocurrido y est\u00e1n ocurriendo cada d\u00eda que contin\u00faa esta inhumanidad? En mi poema, la madre encuentra al beb\u00e9, su presencia y su aliento sanan una ruptura. Espero que como cl\u00ednicos de salud mental infantil podamos responder al dolor y al sufrimiento que est\u00e1 ocurriendo, para todos los infants, ni\u00f1os y sus familias, en los conflictos globales. Tenemos el deber de actuar y denunciar las injusticias que est\u00e1n ocurriendo a los beb\u00e9s y ni\u00f1os peque\u00f1os.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La luz en sus ojos se apag\u00f3,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Descolorido, solo un poco.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Esa fue la primera se\u00f1al.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El movimiento de las formas suaves y hermosas alrededor de sus ojos<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Acumulado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hab\u00eda quietud, no, silencio en el aire a mi alrededor<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La luz que ba\u00f1aba cada uno de mis momentos de vigilia y me llamaba a la existencia,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Desvanecido.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sab\u00eda que me sosten\u00edan, pero no pod\u00eda sentir el calor debajo de m\u00ed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Me apart\u00e9 porque era todo lo que pod\u00eda hacer,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pero mi cuerpo solo pod\u00eda estirarse y no alejarse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As\u00ed que me estir\u00e9 todo lo que pude,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Como si esto pudiera ayudarme a encontrar la luz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La luz que me llama.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Entonces lo sent\u00ed,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Un peque\u00f1o c\u00edrculo de calidez en mi mejilla,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Una respiraci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Suave y acariciante y del primer y m\u00e1s dulce olor conocido por m\u00ed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Entonces un toque,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tan tierno que quer\u00eda que este momento durara para siempre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sent\u00ed que me volv\u00eda hacia esta calidez y este tacto,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Y la luz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La Dra. Aoife Twohig es psiquiatra infanto-juvenil especializada en psiquiatr\u00eda de enlace pedi\u00e1trico en Children\u2019s Health Ireland, en Temple St., Dubl\u00edn. Aoife se interes\u00f3 por el desarrollo emocional temprano a trav\u00e9s de su m\u00e1ster en psicoterapia psicoanal\u00edtica infanto-juvenil y, en particular, por la observaci\u00f3n de lactantes, y posteriormente complet\u00f3 un doctorado en el \u00e1rea del apego y el nacimiento prematuro.
